Pasi Abeyweera

Pasi Abeyweera has a diverse work experience spanning from 2016 to 2023. Starting as an Investment Analyst at CAL, they modeled and simulated the Sri Lankan economy and capital markets using statistical and machine learning methods. Pasi then moved to JellyFish Limited as the Team Lead in Analytics, where they led a team in researching, modeling, and generating business logic for market analysis and customer segmentation.

In 2018, Pasi joined Stax Inc. as a Consultant in Data Science, where they worked on advanced analytics and business intelligence projects for clients in various industries. Pasi later became a Senior Consultant and then a Manager, overseeing projects in strategy consulting engagements and leading the R&D-Platforms team. Pasi also conceptualized, designed, and built business processes in decision science and data engineering. Additionally, they managed the productization strategy and democratisation of data science skills across the organization through Stax AnalyticsEdge.

Currently, Pasi is the Head of BI & Analytics at The Maxol Group since 2023. In this role, they have led the assessment and strategic alignment of data assets and infrastructure within the company's 5-year strategic plan. Pasi has also expanded the organization's capabilities in data engineering, advanced analytics, and business intelligence to drive business growth. Moreover, they are spearheading the group's data platform modernization with a data mesh on Azure, facilitating efficient management and utilization of over 500 million data transactions annually.

Pasi Abeyweera holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Management Information Systems and Finance & Banking from the University of Georgia - Terry College of Business.
