Sumantra Chaudhuri

Sumantra Chaudhuri is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in the energy and construction sectors. Currently serving as the Director Legal (EMEA-APA) and Chief Counsel (EMEA-APA) at McDermott International, Ltd since January 2022, Sumantra previously held the position of Senior Legal Counsel at Harbour Energy following its formation from the merger of Premier Oil and Chrysaor in April 2021. Additional experience includes serving as Senior Legal Counsel - Commercial at Subsea 7, Regional Legal Counsel- Asia Pacific at PGS, and Geomarket Legal and Contracts Counsel - Central East Asia at Schlumberger. Sumantra commenced a legal career as Group Legal Counsel & Claims Manager at Freight Systems Co Ltd. Educational qualifications include an LLM in International Business Law and an LLB (Hons) from the University of Exeter, along with a BSL in Law from Symbiosis International University.
