Mary Fastiggi currently serves as the Restoration Manager and Parsons Field Institute Coordinator at McDowell Sonoran Conservancy, positions held since September 2019. Prior experience includes roles as a Research Assistant at Arizona State University, with a focus on urban resilience, sustainability projects, and adaptive climate planning while pursuing a Master of Science in Sustainability. Earlier, Mary worked as a Naturalist Educator at the University of Michigan's Environmental Interpretive Center, coordinating educational programs and events such as the Rouge River Water Festival. Additional experience includes freelance writing for the DTE Energy Foundation and internships at DTE Energy focusing on environmental initiatives and certification efforts. Mary Fastiggi holds a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and History from the University of Michigan-Dearborn.
McDowell Sonoran Conservancy
The McDowell Sonoran Conservancy champions the sustainability of the McDowell Sonoran Preserve for the benefit of this and future generations. As stewards, we connect the community to the Preserve through education, research, advocacy, partnerships and safe, respectful access. The McDowell Sonoran Conservancy is a non-profit conservation organization that relies on our more than 650 volunteers to help protect and promote Scottsdale's McDowell Sonoran Preserve. Our work includes providing public access to Preserve, protecting the Preserve through research and stewardship, and increasing the community's understanding and appreciation of the Preserve through educational programs and community events. By integrating the Preserve into the fabric of the Scottsdale community, the McDowell Sonoran Conservancy is focused on ensuring future volunteers will continue to champion its protection for generations to come. www.mcdowellsonoran.org
