Christy Blake

Special Projects Manager at MCEDC

Christy is a Special Projects Manager, working on numerous projects that cross teams at MCEDC. She is instrumental in coordinating MCEDC’s federal laboratory commercialization strategy, where she helps connect entrepreneurs and companies to federal assets to help grow their business. She also assists in connecting the post-doctoral community to industry contacts. Christy has coordination and administration responsibilities for the Montgomery County Commerce Cabinet, a 14 member interagency group representing executive branch departments, the County Council and public-private organizations.

Christy brings to MCEDC a range of regional economic development experience, having worked for the Loudoun County Department of Economic Development, where she was a Business Development Manager. She’s also held other management positions for economic development offices in Northern Virginia and Hagerstown, Maryland, working in community building, revitalization efforts, business development and research.

Christy holds a Master’s in Urban Planning from Virginia Tech, with a graduate certificate in Economic Development. Her broad, regional experience is a perfect fit for her role as Special Projects Manager.
