Shalaleh Rismani

Shalaleh Rismani is a highly accomplished researcher and expert in robotics and artificial intelligence (AI), currently serving as a PhD student at McGill University and a Responsible AI Advisor at Mila - Quebec Artificial Intelligence Institute since January 2023. In addition to these roles, Shalaleh has been the Executive Director of the Open Roboethics Institute since September 2013, leading discussions on the ethical implications of robotics. Previous experience includes a student researcher position at Google and an adjunct professor role at The University of British Columbia, where Shalaleh also developed curricula and coordinated various engineering courses. Educational qualifications consist of a Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical and Computer Engineering from McGill University, a Master of Applied Science in Biomedical Engineering, and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Mechatronics Option), both from The University of British Columbia.
