Partner at McGivney, Kluger, Clark & Intoccia

Mindy Jayne is a Partner in MKCI’s New York City and Florham Park, NJ offices. Mindy’s practice focuses on a variety of areas, including construction defect, New York Labor Law, premises liability and products liability. Over the years, Mindy has forged lasting relationships with corporate clients and carriers alike, giving specialized attention to the needs of the case as well as the particular preferences of the client and/or carrier in order to obtain the best end result. Mindy strives to determine the best strategy for each case, whether that is early resolution or trial to verdict. She pays particular attention to detail and is skilled in developing a case during discovery to position the client for the best possible outcome during motion practice, settlement negotiations, mediation, arbitration and/or trial.

During her career, Mindy successfully argued before the Court of Appeals for the State of New York, on behalf of a former building owner, in the matter of Cornell v. 360 West 51st Street Realty, LLC, et al., 22 N.Y.3d 762 (2014), which clarified the admissibility standard for expert testimony in the State of New York with respect to issues of general and specific causation in a mold-based personal injury action. She also tried a New York Labor Law case to a win/loss verdict involving a traumatic brain injury in Kings County, in which the jury found the defendants liable, but did not believe a brain injury had occurred, awarding five figures in the face of an eight figure demand.

During her time with MKCI, Mindy has assisted in creating and presenting CLE presentations in the areas of construction defect and New York Labor Law.

In her personal life, Mindy is the proud mom of her son and daughter, and is particularly fond of animals. She has volunteered her time to animal rescues and the ASPCA in rehabilitating abused dogs.

Mindy obtained her Juris Doctor degree from Pace University School of Law, where she was a research and writing editor for the Pace Environmental Law Review, and from which she graduated cum laude. Mindy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Affairs and a Certificate in Environmental Science from Indiana University.
