Klaus Kjaer serves as the Associate Dean for Policy and Professionalism at Weill Cornell Medicine since 2000, where responsibilities include enhancing organizational performance through psychological safety and effective teamwork. Kjaer also holds the positions of Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology, Chief Quality and Patient Safety Officer, and Program Director for the Obstetric Anesthesiology Fellowship, contributing to physician-led initiatives aimed at improving quality, patient safety, and risk management within clinical departments. Additional roles include membership on the Board of Directors for the Society for Obstetric Anesthesia and Perinatology and participation in the Patient Safety Committee at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. Kjaer’s previous experience includes fellowship training at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital, residency at Brigham and Women's Hospital, and an internship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Educational credentials include an MBA from Columbia Business School, an MD from the University of California, San Francisco, and a degree in Biology and Economics from Stanford University.
