Chris Ellis has over 35 years of experience in the finance industry. Chris began their career in 1985 as the Chief Financial Officer/Mergers & Acquisitions Director at GE Capital. In 2001, they became the Global Chief Financial Officer at Betrusted (now Cybertrust), a global provider of cybersecurity and trust services spun out of PWC and sold to private equity. Chris was responsible for Finance, Security and Assurance, and HR globally, and the group had annual revenues of $125MM and 750 employees worldwide. In 2005, they became the Chief Financial Officer at Brook Henderson Group Limited, a privately-owned support services and equipment management business. Chris was responsible for Finance, Treasury & Funding, Tax, HR, and IT, and the group had over 500 staff and a turnover of £170 million. In 2006, they became the Chief Financial Officer at Syscap (now part of Wesleyan Bank), an independent provider of finance for IT investments and similar asset groups. Chris was responsible for Finance, Treasury & Funding, Tax, HR, and IT. In 2009, they became the Chief Financial Officer at United Health International, a global healthcare business owned by a large quoted US company. Chris was responsible for Finance, Treasury & Funding, Tax, HR, and IT, as well as a broader remit to provide overall strategic direction to the group. From 2012-2019, Chris was the Chief Executive Officer & Acting Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, and Non Executive Director at Hydrodec Group plc, a listed global refiner of used oil using patented technology. Chris was responsible to the Board for all aspects of management and operation of the business globally, and they successfully returned the business to profitability within 6 months of their appointment. In 2021, they became the Chief Executive Officer at Cutting Edge Advisory. Finally, in 2022, Chris became the Chief Operating Officer at McLaren Strategic Ventures (MSV).

Chris Ellis obtained a Foundation degree in Accounting and Finance from Birmingham City University between 1979 and 1980. In July 1984, they obtained a Chartered Accountant certification from the ICAEW.
