Keya Shial

Keya Shial has a diverse work experience in the field of materials and process engineering. Keya started their career in 2018 as a Research Assistant at the Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station (TEES), where they worked until 2020. During their time there, they gained valuable experience in research.

In 2020, Keya joined the Georgia Institute of Technology as a Research Assistant, where they worked until 2022. Here, they further developed their research skills and contributed to various projects.

In 2021, Keya took on the role of a Research and Development Intern at BD. Keya worked in this position for six months, gaining practical experience in the field.

In 2022, Keya joined Qarbon Aerospace as a Materials and Process Engineer. Keya worked in this role for a year, where they contributed their expertise in materials selection, process control, and qualification.

Currently, Keya is working at McLaurin Aerospace since 2023 as a Materials and Process Engineer. Here, they provide guidance on M&P requirements for the Starship Human Landing System (HLS), ensuring compliance with NASA standards and specifications.

Keya Shial completed a Master of Science (MS) degree in Materials Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology between 2020 and 2022. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University, which they completed between 2017 and 2020. In addition to their academic qualifications, Keya Shial also holds a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (ICBB) certification from The Council for Six Sigma Certification (CSSC), which they obtained in November 2021.
