Erol Kazançli

Erol Kazançlı has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of data science and software engineering. EROL started their career at Denizbank as a Software Engineer from 2005 to 2007. EROL then worked at TFORS Events as a Software Engineer, where they developed software using .NET technologies and provided on-site technical services to sporting events worldwide in 2011.

After that, Erol joined Vakifbank in 2011 as a Software Engineer, and later became a BI Specialist - Software Engineer from 2013 to 2015.

In 2016, they served as a Data Science Intern at QMENTA, where they worked on automatic segmentation of MS Lesions on MRI images using Deep Learning with TensorFlow and Amazon Web Services. During their time there, they also published and presented a conference paper.

Erol's next role was at Sparsity Technologies in 2017, where they worked as a Data Scientist. Their responsibilities included working on smart mobility applications and applying optimization/artificial intelligence solutions to the vehicle routing problem. EROL also improved the performance of existing solutions and added new features to the application.

From 2018 to 2020, Erol worked as a Data Scientist at KI labs GmbH, where they worked on diverse projects in the automotive sector, focusing on smart mobility. EROL utilized Python, GoLang, Azure, AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes to provide creative solutions applying machine learning and statistics.

Currently, Erol is a Principal Data Scientist at McMakler since 2020. EROL leads a data science team and has worked on various projects, including property price estimation, trend prediction, demand forecasting, marketing mix modeling, causal impact, and NLP. EROL has improved machine learning models' performance, data quality, and initiated better documentation and coding practices. EROL has also played a role in hiring, onboarding, and mentoring junior team members.

Erol Kazançlı obtained a Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya from 2015 to 2017. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate studies in Computer Engineering at Boğaziçi University from 1999 to 2006. In 2007 to 2008, they pursued a graduate program in Economics and Econometrics at the University of Exeter. In terms of additional certifications, Erol Kazançlı obtained the "DeepLearning.AI TensorFlow Developer" certificate in May 2021 from Coursera.
