Serhii Hainulin

Serhii Hainulin has extensive experience in software development, architecture, and project management. Serhii is currently working at McMakler as the Head of Architecture. In this role, they manage engineering teams during the migration of a monolithic platform to a micro-services ecosystem. Serhii has successfully revived a team in termination stage and grown it into a high-performing cross-functional squad. Serhii efficiently applies engineering metrics to increase transparency and collaboration within the team and with stakeholders.

Prior to McMakler, Serhii served as the Lead Software Engineer at Yilu from 2019 to 2021. Serhii developed and managed cross-functional teams that built an API for an end-to-end travel platform. Serhii also implemented a COVID-information portal for a major airline group. Serhii led requirement engineering efforts and design for the API platform and downstream services, and was responsible for infrastructure and CI/CD management.

Before Yilu, Serhii worked as a Software Architect and IT Consultant at tarent solutions GmbH from 2018 to 2019. Serhii managed a cross-functional development team and provided technical recommendations for an eCommerce platform. Serhii also supported a business team in requirement engineering and project development. Serhii developed a suite for IoT device management, Big Data collection and aggregation, and data flow management.

In 2018, Serhii worked as a Lead Software Developer and Technology Consultant at eptecon, where they created a proprietary software framework for IoT and M2M communications. Serhii developed software modules and integrated third-party administrative software for company needs.

Previously, Serhii held the role of Web Development Consultant at WoodSouvenir.eu from 2016 to 2017. Serhii provided a technical analysis of the company's online marketing approach and proposed coherent strategies and technological changes that increased sales and leads while decreasing costs.

Serhii has also served as CEO/CTO and Founder of DNIPRO Group, where they led the digital transformation of brick-and-mortar companies into innovative platform businesses. Serhii designed and implemented an IT solution for coordinating and controlling the company's cargo fleet. Serhii's effective visualization and algorithms improved workload, truck maintenance, and decision-making, resulting in a 40% reduction in operation costs.

Additionally, Serhii worked as a Product Manager at Pillar, JSC, where they managed operations over the entire product lifecycle and contributed to corporate ERP systems with software modules. Serhii also held the role of Project Manager at Sheki, PE, where they streamlined supply chain management and created a sourcing system based on automatic supplier rating and price comparison.

Serhii's early career includes working as a Logistics Manager at KyivZovnishTrans, JSC, where they developed and implemented automation for production processes, resulting in a 30% decrease in vehicle handling time. Serhii successfully forwarded over 100,000 tons of cargoes in this role.

Serhii Hainulin has a diverse educational background. Serhii started their education in 1986 at Multy-specialized lyseum N 99 in Zaporizhzhya, Ukraine, where they obtained their secondary education in economics in 1997. Afterward, they attended Zaporizhzhya State Technical University from 1997 to 2001 and earned a Bachelor's degree in International Economics.

In 2001, Serhii Hainulin pursued further education at Zaporizhzhya National Technical University, where they obtained a Diploma degree in International Business/Trade/Commerce, completing their studies in 2002. Seeking advanced knowledge in finance and financial management services, they enrolled as a PhD student (ABD) at the Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine from 2002 to 2006.

Continuing their academic journey, Serhii Hainulin attended Classic Private University in 2014 and 2015, acquiring a Diploma in Computer Science. Then, from 2015 to 2018, they pursued a Master's degree in Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship at Technische Universität Berlin.

In addition to their extensive education, Serhii Hainulin has also obtained certifications in Apache Druid® Basics from Imply in September 2022 and TRIZ JSA from the Academy of Instrumental Modern TRIZ in March 2016.
