Steve Walker

Steve Walker is an experienced data science professional currently serving as the Director of Data Science and Principal Data Scientist at McMaster University since May 2021. Prior to this role, Steve held positions including Product Manager in Data Science at Altair and Statistical Consultant with the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry. With a strong background as a Senior Data Scientist at Angoss Software Corporation, expertise in statistical methodologies was further developed during postdoctoral fellowships at McMaster University and Université de Montréal. Steve holds a PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, a Master's degree in Zoology, and a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, all from institutions in Toronto and York University.
