Benjamin Reed has a diverse and extensive work experience. Benjamin started their career in 2005 as a Research Tech at UW Medicine. Benjamin then pursued their PhD at the University of Washington, specializing in neural protein quality control for neurological disorders. After completing their PhD, Benjamin worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Duke University, where they led a DARPA-funded project focused on bio-engineering yeast for chemical production. Benjamin then joined Novozymes and held multiple roles, including Scientist, Research Manager, and Sr. Manager, where they played a crucial role in product strategy and portfolio management. Benjamin later joined Cemvita Inc. as the Director of Business Operations, where they were responsible for business development, strategic planning, and operational efficiency. Currently, Benjamin is working as the Director of Project Management at Meati, starting in 2023.

Benjamin Reed earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Behavioral Neuroscience from the University of Washington from 2003 to 2007. Benjamin continued their education at the same university and obtained a PhD in Pharmacology from 2009 to 2015.
