Kurt Hoffmeister is a seasoned expert in 3D display technology with extensive experience in research and development. Currently semi-retired, Kurt serves as a consultant at Mechdyne Corporation, where work commenced in 1996, following a notable role as VP of R&D at the company, which was previously known as Fakespace Systems. Prior to this, Kurt contributed to the Virtual Reality Applications Center at Iowa State University from 1994 to 1998 as a research assistant and temporary instructor for a multi-discipline engineering design course. Earlier career endeavors include a tenure as a tire designer at Michelin from 1985 to 1994, focusing on passenger car tire design. Kurt holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Iowa, with additional education from the Air War College.
