Soumittra N

Soumittra N has worked as Disease head, Ophthalmology at MEDGENOME since July 2017. Prior to that, they worked as Principal Scientist & Associate professor at Vision Research Foundation from April 2015 to May 2017. They also worked as a Lecturer at VRF from February 2006 to 2015.

Soumittra N has a strong educational background in the field of biological and biomedical sciences. In 1995, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from the University of Madras (Meenakshi College for Women). Soumittra then pursued a Master of Science in Medical Laboratory Technology from BITS, Pilani, completing their studies in 2001. Following this, they enrolled in the Cancer Institute (WIA) at the University of Madras in Chennai and obtained a PhD in Human Genetics, finishing their doctorate in 2005.
