Joost de Wit

Joost de Wit has a diverse range of work experience that spans various roles and organizations. Joost is currently the Head of Data at DPG Media, where they are responsible for formulating and executing the data strategy for DPG Online Services. Prior to this, they held the position of Senior Machine Learning Engineer at the same company, where they developed news personalization products and contributed to the development of a personalized news content product.

Before joining DPG Media, Joost was involved with Media Distillery, a company they co-founded. Joost initially served as the CEO, overseeing the founding and development of the company. Joost later transitioned to the role of Founder & Chief Product Officer and eventually became an advisor to the management team while remaining a major shareholder.

Joost also worked at Talpa Network as the Lead of Artificial Intelligence, where they established the Artificial Intelligence team and developed Machine Learning products for Talpa brands. Joost also served as the Product Manager AI in the company.

Earlier in their career, Joost worked at TNO as an Innovator, conducting research and providing technical consultancy in media mining. Joost also interned at TNO, focusing on the evaluation of recommender systems and developing a method to predict user satisfaction.

Joost's career began with the founding of NRJ Webdesign, a company that initially focused on website development and later shifted towards developing advanced web applications for small businesses and educational organizations.

Joost de Wit's education history begins with their attendance at Zernike College from 1995 to 2001, where they obtained their VWO degree in Middelbare School. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Groningen, studying there from 2001 to 2005. Joost then went on to earn a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Twente between 2005 and 2007. Additionally, in July 2016, Joost de Wit obtained a certification in Machine Learning from Coursera Course Certificates.
