Carina Kaltenbach

Carina Kaltenbach has worked in a variety of positions since 2016. In that year, they worked as a Software Engineering Intern at Haufe Gruppe, where they were responsible for expanding and improving an existing, internal, browser-based dashboard application. This included requirements analysis, design, implementation, rollout, and continued maintenance of features. Carina also conceptualized and realized a command line application that automatically retrieved, aggregated, and transformed data from different data sources. Both applications were written in Ruby and Javascript.

In 2017, they returned to Haufe Group as a Working Student, continuing the work they had done as part of their internship the previous summer. Carina had operations responsibility for the dashboard application to ensure uninterrupted availability of the app to all stakeholders in the department. Carina also maintained and adjusted features.

In 2018, Carina Kaltenbach started their own business, Carina Kaltenbach Data Science, as a Freelance Data Scientist.

From 2019 to 2021, they worked at Freie Universität Berlin as a Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter. Carina was responsible for the conception, planning, and execution of an fMRI study focused on brain plasticity in congenitally blind adults. Carina also implemented a sustainable code base and pipeline for data preprocessing and analysis.

Currently, Carina Kaltenbach is Head Of Support at mediaire. Her responsibilities include the setup of sustainable support processes, managing of support requests, and technical consulting for clients. Carina is also the Lead of UI Squad.

Carina Kaltenbach's education history includes a Bachelor's Degree in Cognitive Science from The University of Edinburgh, which they completed between 2014 and 2018. Carina then completed an exchange program at The University of California, Irvine, where they studied Computer Science between 2016 and 2017. Finally, they completed a Master of Science in Neuroscience from the University of Oxford in 2019.
