John Walker has a diverse range of experience in the technology industry. John started their career in 1997 at Marconi as an ASIC design engineer before moving on to Jennic Ltd as a digital design engineer in 2001. In 2002, they joined Imagination Technologies as a senior design engineer, where they played a crucial role in the signoff process for graphics and TV chips.

In 2007, John joined RFEL as a senior digital design engineer, specializing in the implementation of complex signal processing chips using VHDL and various tools. During their time there, they worked on projects involving Altera and Xilinx FPGA, developing mathematical functions such as log10, nco, fft, and more.

From 2011 to 2016, John worked at Ericsson Television as a SystemVerilog/UVM verification engineer in an agile scrum team. Their responsibilities included verification of digital TV over Ethernet and creating testbenches using UVM to ensure coverage-driven verification.

Since 2016, John has been working at MediaKind as a Principal Dev Ops Engineer. In this role, they have been involved in the company's transition to Azure, ADO, and GKE. Their tasks include writing ADO pipelines for deploying microservices and conducting tests on Google Cloud GKE. John has also been responsible for provisioning kube clusters, writing python scripts to migrate work items from legacy systems to Azure boards, and managing the secure integration of on-prem systems with the cloud.

John Walker earned a Bachelor of Engineering with Honors (1st class) in Microelectronics from uni, where they studied from 1993 to 1997. In addition to their formal education, John also obtained several certifications such as "Essential Cloud Infrastructure: Core Services" and "Essential Cloud Infrastructure: Foundation" from Coursera in June 2019, as well as "Google Cloud Platform Fundamentals: Core Infrastructure" in May 2019.
