Ch'An Armstrong

Ch'an Armstrong has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of design. Starting in 2013, they worked as a freelance Digital Designer at Paperdigital, where they created high-quality digital designs for websites and apps while managing client relationships. From 2016 to 2018, they worked as a Digital Designer at Butterfly | Digital agency, collaborating with clients to create innovative and user-centered digital designs.

In 2018, Ch'an joined Adelphi Digital Consulting Group as a Digital Designer, creating digital designs for various digital media and collaborating with cross-functional teams. They also worked as a Sessional Teacher at Macleay College and Victoria University, delivering lectures and tutorials on design topics and providing guidance to students on their projects.

From 2018 to 2019, Ch'an served as a Councillor at the Australian Graphic Design Association (AGDA), where they worked closely with the executive team to develop industry initiatives and advocate for the value of design. They then joined REA Group, where they held several roles including Product Designer, Sr. Product Designer, and Product Design Manager. In these roles, they led the design and maintenance of design systems, mentored and guided other designers, and ensured consistency and quality across product experiences.

In 2023, Ch'an joined Medibank as a Lead Product Designer, focusing on design systems. Alongside their professional career, they founded DesignOps, a community platform that connects designers and developers.

Ch'an Armstrong pursued a Bachelor of Arts (Digital Media and Marketing) degree at Swinburne University of Technology from 2011 to 2013. Prior to that, they completed a Diploma of Information Technology (Multimedia) at the same university from 2010 to 2011. In 2015, Ch'an obtained a Diploma of Graphic Design from Victoria University. In 2016, they attended RMIT University and acquired a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. Additionally, in 2014, Ch'an completed a program called AdSchool Foundations at Communications Council.
