Mircea Popa is a seasoned entrepreneur with a strong background in health technology. As Co-Founder and CEO of Medicai since March 2018, Popa has led the development of cloud-based infrastructure and APIs that enhance the management of medical imaging data, currently serving over 60 hospitals and a network of more than 6,600 doctors. Prior to Medicai, Popa co-founded SkinVision in April 2012, a pioneering mobile app that employs machine learning to detect melanoma, achieving over 1.2 million downloads and a remarkable accuracy rate of 90%. SkinVision successfully identified approximately 50,000 skin cancer cases globally and secured €15 million in funding, generating $50 million in new market value. Additionally, Popa served as COO of Skin Scan from March 2010 to March 2012, further establishing expertise in the health tech sector.
