Education Program Coordinator III - Pathway Lead at Medical College of Wisconsin

Patricia Schmidt has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Patricia began their career at Chai Preschool in 2007, where they worked as a Lead Teacher. Patricia was responsible for training new employees and implementing a curriculum focused on children's educational and social development. In 2011, they joined Strauss ECE as a Lead Teacher, where they created and executed curriculum and maintained constant communication with families regarding each child's progress.

Patricia then transitioned to the Language, Learning, Literacy, and Lexicon Lab in 2012, where they held multiple roles including Community Outreach Coordinator, Research Assistant, Data Processor, and Data Collector. Patricia successfully recruited school-aged children for research studies and administered tests, processing the data for quantitative analysis.

In 2013, Patricia worked at the Arizona Institute for Communication and Cognitive Disorders as a Cognitive Rehabilitation professional. Patricia provided direct therapy in a home-based setting, wrote progress reports, and addressed clients' areas of need.

From 2014 to 2015, Patricia worked as a Sales Associate at Zeiler Spirits LLC, a distiller spirits supplier. Patricia contributed to the creation of COLDCOCK American Herbal Whiskey and assisted with sales operations.

Patricia then transitioned to Addie's Autism Fitt Club in 2015, where they served as a Lead Speech Language Pathology Assistant. Patricia implemented speech therapy, led social thinking groups, and collaborated with other therapists to provide comprehensive treatment to pediatric patients with various conditions.

In 2016, Patricia joined Next Door Milwaukee as a Special Education Teacher and later became a Lead Teacher. Patricia facilitated special education services and provided leadership within the organization.

From 2018 to 2020, Patricia worked at Milwaukee College Prep School as a Special Education Teacher, specializing in serving students with disabilities. In 2020, they took on an additional role as the Dean of Special Education.

Most recently, in 2023, Patricia joined the Medical College of Wisconsin as an Education Program Coordinator III - Pathway Lead.

Patricia Schmidt received their Master of Science (M.S.) in Exceptional Education from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee from 2016 to 2018. Prior to that, they obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences with a Minor in Special Education from the University of Arizona from 2011 to 2013. In 2007, they completed their Associate of Arts (A.A.) in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies at Palomar College. Patricia also holds a Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology/Pathologist from the University of Arizona. Patricia Schmidt further obtained a certification as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant from www.speechandhearing.ca.gov in November 2015.
