Courtney King, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Medical University of South Carolina, where since 2013, Courtney has also served as Program Manager for Mom's IMPACTT, an initiative aimed at improving access to maternal mental health and substance use disorder care through telemedicine. Courtney's postdoctoral research, under Dr. Constance Guille, focused on leveraging technology to enhance treatment access for women facing peripartum mental health and substance use disorders. Additionally, Courtney co-founded Iron Wolf Recovery Fitness, which supports individuals with substance use disorders through community-building and wellness activities, and held roles at Locomotion Fit, including Operations and Youth Program Director. Educational achievements include a PhD in Neuroscience from the Medical University of South Carolina and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia. Early research experience includes positions at the National Institutes of Health, University of Virginia, Harvard University, and the American Chemical Society.
