Xabier Aztarain

Xabier Aztarain has extensive work experience in supply chain management and procurement. Xabier is currently the Head of Supply Chain at Medichem, S.A. and was previously an Associate Professor at ICIL Barcelona, where they taught and was responsible for the integration of suppliers in the Purchasing and Supply Chain Master's program.

Before that, Aztarain held various roles at Galenicum Health, including Head of Supply Chain Management, where they managed the upstream and downstream relationships with customers and suppliers to increase value and decrease costs. Xabier also worked closely with suppliers to ensure continuous procurement and developed customer relationships to improve delivery performance.

Aztarain also has experience at Johnson Controls Manufacturing España, where they served as a Materials Manager, responsible for procurement strategy and vendor performance. Xabier also worked as an internal SAP project manager, coordinating the implementation of SAP modules.

Prior to that, they worked at Iberica AG as a Purchasing Manager and iScala project manager, and at Faurecia as a Commodity Buyer. Xabier began their career at Henkel CEE as a Purchaser Jr.

Xabier Aztarain obtained a degree in Engineering with a specialization in Energy from the Escuela Tecnica Superior Ingeniería Industrial de Barcelona (UPC) between 1992 and 1998. Recently, in 2019-2020, they completed the PDD program at IESE Business School.
