Ronald Nanninga has extensive work experience in the medical and technology fields. Ronald began their career in 2005 as the Owner of Onder de Plataan, a consultancy, coaching, and interim management firm. In 2008, they co-founded GenOvum, a company focused on the genetic background of ovarian ageing and ovarian dysfunction. In 2011, they became a Board Member of Radiology Morphological Solutions, a high tech company in the field of computer aided medical diagnosis systems. In 2012, they became the CEO of abcdeSIM, a serious game for medical professionals. In 2014, they became the CEO and Co-Founder of VirtualMedSchool, an international medical education platform. In 2015, they became a Board Member of ZorgKeuzeLab, a company focused on improving doctor and patient communication. In 2016, they became the CTO of Meds2Go, a company focused on cooling medicines. In 2017, they became a Board Member of Stichting Het UitwijkTeam, a company focused on supporting helpers when their clients get stuck in the system. In 2020, they became a Board Member of geWOONzo, a company focused on providing independent living space, daytime activities and guidance.

Ronald Nanninga's education history includes obtaining a MScBA in Bedrijfskunde / RSM / Business Administration from Erasmus University Rotterdam between 1986 and 1992. In 2011, they attended Okavango Guiding School for a Field Guide program. From 1985 to 1986, they attended the Royal Netherlands Naval College for Adelborst Zeedienst. In 2012, they attended Singularity University @ Deloitte - The technology driven CEO session. In 2006, they attended WUR and RSM for a Master class Biobusiness. Prior to 1985, they attended Albert Schweitzer Scholen Gemeenschap - Geleen.
