Nick Finstrom

Nick Finstrom is a distinguished engineer and technical fellow at Medtronic with a robust background in Electrical System Design for implantable cardiac devices and a focus on battery development for cardiac and neuromodulation implantables. Finstrom has held multiple leadership roles, including distinguished engineer/technical director for Global R&D in diabetes continuous glucose monitoring and engineering manager for battery and capacitor development. With experience as a senior principal manufacturing engineer and principal manufacturing engineer, Finstrom has overseen equipment procurement, process development, and legacy process validation efforts. Prior to Medtronic, Finstrom worked as an advanced process development engineer at Hutchinson Technology Inc. and conducted research as a graduate student at the University of California. Finstrom holds an MBA from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota, a Master of Science in Materials from UC Santa Barbara, and a BS in Material Science and Engineering from the University of Minnesota.
