James Buttleman MA, PEM, MEP, PCP, CHSP, CHEP, CHFM has extensive work experience in emergency management, safety, and environment of care. Currently, they serve as the Regional Director (Environment of Care, Emergency Management, and Safety) at Medxcel Facilities Management, overseeing hospitals, ambulatory care centers, and healthcare clinics. Prior to this, they worked as a Lieutenant/EMT-Basic at the Onondaga Township Fire Department and as an Instructor at FEMA. James also has experience as a Travel Agent at Storybook Getaway, providing vacation planning services.

James has served as an Emergency Management Consultant at CEMA, Inc., specializing in emergency planning, training, and exercises for healthcare organizations. Previously, James worked as the Director of Operations at Unified Command, leading the Emergency Management division and coordinating incident management support for events. James also served as Emergency Management (Senior Business Support II) at Consumers Energy, where they integrated the Incident Command System and developed emergency plans and procedures.

In terms of healthcare, James has held managerial positions at Henry Ford Allegiance Health and Spectrum Health Big Rapids and Reed City Hospitals, responsible for overseeing emergency management, safety, and environment of care programs. James has also been actively involved in the Michigan Emergency Management Association as the 2nd Vice President.

Prior to this, they completed a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Emergency and Disaster Management from the American Public University System in 2014, and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Emergency and Disaster Management from the same institution in 2013. James also holds an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Emergency Management from Frederick Community College, which they earned from 2010 to 2012.

Before pursuing higher education, James attended Baker College of Muskegon from 2006 to 2007 to study Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse, although they did not obtain a degree. James completed their high school education at White Cloud High School, where they received a General Education Diploma.
