Ardy Arefi

Ardy Arefi has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. They began their career as a Lab & Field Technician at AMEC in 2005 and then worked as a Process Engineer-In-Training at North Atlantic Refining Limited in 2006. From 2008 to 2011, they served as a Process Engineer and Project Manager at WorleyParsons. In 2011, they joined MEG Energy Corp as a Facilities Engineer, gaining valuable hands-on experience and serving as a liaison between the operations team and office staff. They then worked at Sunshine Oilsands Ltd in 2013 as a Senior Facilities Engineer, where they developed commissioning and start-up plans and established production reporting tools. Returning to MEG Energy Corp in 2014, they held various positions, including Senior Operations Process Engineer, Plant Engineering Lead, Optimization Process Engineering Lead, Facility Optimization Manager, and finally as the Director of Operations. In these roles, they demonstrated strong leadership and safety skills, managed physical assets and human resources, and optimized profitability through financial accountability. They also were instrumental in implementing various projects and technologies, such as heavy oil viscosity reduction, solvent injection and recovery schemes, and advanced process controls, resulting in improved reliability and higher production rates at MEG Energy's facilities. Overall, Ardy Arefi has a breadth of experience in operations management, optimization, and engineering in the energy sector.
