Brecht Vermeire's work experience begins in 2012 as a Research Assistant for the Cabinet of the Minister of Economy of Belgium. In 2013, they worked in Sales at Microsoft for eight months before moving on to Google. At Google, Brecht held various roles from 2013 to 2021, including Lead Data Analyst and Program Manager - Data. During their time at Google, they focused on business intelligence solutions, data insights, and technical integration of data stack and reporting within Google Cloud.

In 2017, Brecht joined Looker as a Manager - Data Analytics, where they led the support teams and workflows in EMEA and worked extensively with Looker's SQL dialects and data modeling language. Brecht also worked on project management, automation, and training and mentoring new hires. In 2018, they transitioned to the role of Project Manager - Data Analytics, Tools & Automations, where they focused on scaling the support and customer success teams globally and overseeing the planning and development of internal tools and automations.

From 2019 to 2021, Brecht returned to Google as a Head Of Business Intelligence, responsible for Firebolt's internal data stack, analytics, and reporting. In this role, they utilized various tools such as Firebolt, Airbyte, dbt, and Looker. Most recently, Brecht joined Meister in 2023 as a Senior Product Data Analyst.

Brecht Vermeire has a diverse education history. Brecht attended Ghent University, where they studied Political Science until 2012. Before that, they enrolled in Stedelijke Academie voor Schone Kunsten and obtained a degree in Diction - Drama in 2010. Additionally, Brecht attended Koninklijk Atheneum Brugge, focusing on Modern Languages. Brecht has also obtained two additional certifications: a Looker Certified LookML Developer certification from Google in February 2020, and an EF SET English Certificate (C2 Proficient) from EF Standard English Test (EF SET).
