Guy Ross

Guy Ross is the current Chief Operating Officer at Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. Guy has had a long and successful career in the music industry, holding various management positions at different orchestras around Australia.

Guy Ross began their career at Sydney Youth Orchestras in 2006, where they worked as the Artistic Operations Manager. In this role, Guy was responsible for the planning and execution of all artistic operations for the Sydney Youth Orchestras. In 2009, Guy Ross left Sydney Youth Orchestras to take on the role of General Manager at Darwin Symphony Orchestra.

At Darwin Symphony Orchestra, Guy Ross was responsible for the overall management of the orchestra. This included managing budgets, fundraising, and marketing. In 2013, after four years at Darwin Symphony Orchestra, Guy Ross moved to Adelaide to take on the role of Chief Operating Officer at Adelaide Symphony Orchestra.

As Chief Operating Officer at Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, Guy Ross was responsible for the operational and financial management of the business. Guy was also responsible for attracting, creating, and managing the Commercial and Orchestra for Hire programs. In addition, Guy Ross was also responsible for people and culture across the orchestra and management teams, including enterprise bargaining.

In October 2018, after three years at Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, Guy Ross moved to Melbourne to take on the role of Chief Operating Officer at Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. In this role, Guy Ross is responsible for the operational and financial management of Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.

Guy Ross completed a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) at the University of South Australia. Their field of study was business administration and management, with a focus on human resource management. Guy also completed a degree in architecture at UNSW.
