Nicholas Bochner

Head, Learning & Engagement at Melbourne Symphony Orchestra

Nicholas Bochner has been a key contributor to the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra since April 1998, holding various positions such as Head of Learning and Engagement, Manager of Learning and Engagement, Section Cello, Engagement Lead, and Assistant Principal Cello, along with serving as the Cybec Assistant Conductor for Learning and Engagement. Prior to this role, Nicholas was an Artist-in-residence at The University of Queensland from February 1995 to December 1997. Educational achievements include attending the Australian Conducting Academy in 2019, the Australian National Academy of Music in 2016, and earning a Fellowship focused on designing and conducting education concerts. Additional qualifications include Advanced Solo Studies in Cello from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama (1992-1994) and an Honours degree in Music Performance from the University of Adelaide (1988-1991).
