Francisca Merida has over 20 years of work experience, starting in 1997 as an Account Manager at Hilton Worldwide. In 2006, they joined Meliá Hotels International as the Director of Group Desk Europe. From 2012 to 2016, they served as the Director of Sales & Marketing for two 5-star properties under The Leading Hotels of the World. Lastly, Francisca held the role of Senior Director of Corporate Sales Strategy at Meliá Hotels International from November 2016 onwards. In this position, they were responsible for defining and implementing sales strategies for 4-star and 5-star hotels in Spain, maximizing revenue and leading the regional and hotel sales teams.
Francisca Merida has a Bachelor's degree in Tourism from Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, which they completed from 1990 to 1993. Francisca later pursued a BA Honours in Tourism Studies (4th year) at Bournemouth University from 1993 to 1994. In 2000 to 2002, they earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Business Administration from Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia - U.N.E.D. Lastly, they obtained a Master's degree in Tourism from UCAM Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia between 2010 and 2011.
