Claudio Chuaqui

Claudio Chuaqui is a seasoned professional in drug discovery and development, currently serving as the Chief Scientific Officer and SVP, Head of Drug Discovery at Meliora Therapeutics since March 2023. Prior to this role, Claudio worked as a Drug Discovery Consultant at CECO Drug Discovery Consulting for a brief period in early 2023 and took a voluntary work break in late 2022 focusing on woodworking. From 2017 to 2022, Claudio held various senior positions at Syros Pharmaceuticals, including SVP and Vice President of Drug Discovery. Earlier experience includes leading discovery projects at Celgene as Principal Investigator and holding principal scientist roles at AstraZeneca. Claudio began a career in research as a Senior Scientist at Biogen Idec. Claudio earned a Ph.D. in Chemical Physics from the University of Waterloo and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Manitoba.
