Octavia Dobre

Octavia A. Dobre is a distinguished academic currently serving as a Professor and Tier-1 Canada Research Chair at Memorial University in Newfoundland and Labrador, where responsibilities also include the role of Interim Dean. Dobre has been recognized as a Fellow of IEEE since January 2020 and has held significant positions at Memorial University, including Professor and Associate Dean of Research. Previous experience includes roles such as Research Associate at New Jersey Institute of Technology and Fulbright Scholar at Stevens Institute of Technology. Dobre has also served as a Visiting Professor at prestigious institutions including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Université de Bretagne Occidentale. Academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and a Dipl.-Ing. in Electronics and Telecommunications from "Politehnica" University of Bucharest.
