The EMR System Administrator is responsible for application and integration of electronic medical records technology in the healthcare setting. This position will align system design with operational processes. This includes data collection, workflow analysis, system configuration, testing, and support. Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the software configuration meets organizational and operational goals.
Responsibilities
- Subject Matter Expert in the clinical documentation systems and processes. Able to represent the clinician’s point of view in discussions.
- Detailed knowledge of product features, functionality, and utilization of the application software; also includes knowledge of data and associated reporting capabilities.
- Develop and assist clinical management and administrative staff with network set up and system training.
- Manage system accounts for internal and external users.
- Takes primary responsibility for software vendor management including day to day management, issue resolution and escalation when needed, and service level agreement oversight.
- Supports and oversees integrations between NetHealth and other EMRs / Systems as applicable
- Provide input and recommendations to leadership on contract details as needed.
- Manage stakeholder expectations by analyzing expectations and requirements.
- Identify operational issues and risks and resolve or escalate as appropriate.
- Works with clinical leadership and staff to ensure high utilization and compliance with system driven processes.
- Performs project management skills including defining tasks, resources and timelines and coordinating the team to deliver to the planned milestones.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues to complete tasks.
- Facilitate meetings with internal and external parties as needed to collect requirements, define or solve issues or manage related projects.
- Monitor system effectiveness and/or performance to determine if there are any potential problems, report critical findings to peers and/or manager and resolve issues.
- Assess new features or enhancements and make recommendations to operations and clinical leadership for deployment.
- Ensures new functionality is tested and verified prior to launch.
- Define disaster recovery/downtime approach and participate in disaster recovery initiatives.
- Resolve or triage support calls as applicable. Track issues to identify opportunities for improvement or identify trends that impact system effectiveness.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in related field.
- Healthcare experience preferred.
- Two years’ relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Current knowledge of regulatory standards and the impact on business operations.
- Prior experience with EMR integrations, management, and optimization required (NetHealth experience preferred).
- Demonstrate and promote an understanding of the need for discretion of all confidential and EPHI (Electronic Protected Health Information) HIPAA regulations.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), electronic medical record platforms and Salesforce.
