As Financial Controller, you will be the financial backbone of our organization, reporting to the Financial Director and responsible for ensuring financial integrity, optimizing performance, and driving strategic growth. Beyond your financial expertise, you will have operational oversight of one of our office entities and ultimately play the role of a Operations Manager. This unique role requires an individual skilled in both finance and business operations, able to seamlessly navigate between strategic and tactical responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management

  • Financial Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to the Board and VC investors, providing key insights and analysis.

  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial projections to support business goals.

  • Audit & Compliance: Help with external audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company standards.

  • Financial Planning & Analysis: Drive strategic decision-making through in-depth analysis and scenario planning.

  • Cash Flow & Working Capital Management: Ensure effective cash flow management and optimal working capital utilization.

Operational Management

  • Office Management: Oversee the operations of the designated office entity, ensuring smooth functioning of day-to-day activities.

  • HR & Administrative Oversight: Support the HR function in recruitment, onboarding, and administrative tasks, maintaining high standards for team and culture.

  • Legal & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure entity-level compliance with local laws, regulations, and company policies

  • Vendor & Stakeholder Relations: Manage relationships with key vendors, partners, and other stakeholders to ensure operational efficiency and mutual benefit.

General Management

  • Strategic Leadership: Act as the head of the office, spearheading key initiatives to drive business growth and operational efficiency.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the executive team and other departments to implement company-wide strategies, aligning local operations with global objectives.

  • Team Leadership: Provide mentorship and guidance to the team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.

  • Business Development Support: Support business development initiatives, bringing financial insights and operational strategies to drive growth.

Key Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CFA) is preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum 5-7 years in a financial controller or senior finance role, ideally in fintech, tech, or other fast-paced, growth-oriented sectors.

  • Audit/Group Reporting: Preferred experience with audit processes or group financial reporting, especially within multi-currency or multi-entity environments.

  • Skillset: Strong financial acumen, exceptional analytical skills, and experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.

  • Fluency in English: Excellent spoken and written English, with the ability to communicate financial information clearly to diverse audiences. Additional EU languages (Polish, Italian, Spanish, French) - an advantage

  • Leadership: Proven experience managing teams and playing a key role in cross-functional projects.

  • Operational Savvy: Hands-on experience in operational management, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
