Andrew Cabaniss has a diverse work experience, starting in 2012 as an Undergraduate Researcher at UNC-CH Applied Math. Andrew then moved on to the Santa Fe Institute as an Undergraduate Researcher, where they analyzed settlement data in the Basin of Mexico. In 2013, they joined the Azoria Project as a Topographer and Textile Tool Specialist, responsible for recording topographic points and managing a database in ArcGIS. From 2017 to 2019, Andrew worked for the Olynthos Project as a Use-Wear Specialist and Ceramic Analyst, documenting physical traces on ancient pottery and conducting statistical analyses. At the University of Michigan, Andrew served as a Graduate Student Instructor, teaching Modern Greek and other courses, as well as mentoring undergraduate researchers in digital humanities. Their roles at the University of Michigan also involved syllabus design and promoting inclusive pedagogy. Most recently, Andrew is employed at Meow Wolf, where they have held various positions, including Data Engineer, Lead Data Engineer, and Data Engineering Manager. Their responsibilities at Meow Wolf included overseeing data engineering teams, data standardization, documentation initiatives, and developing customer data products for personalized experiences.
Andrew Cabaniss has a Master's degree in Classical Archaeology, which they obtained from the University of Michigan between the years 2015 and 2021. Prior to that, they earned their Bachelor of Arts degree in Classical Archaeology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where they attended from 2011 to 2015.
