Director Of Research + Development at Meow Wolf

Meason Wiley has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. From 2018 to the present, they have worked at Meow Wolf, starting as a Creative Mechatronic Engineer and Sound Artist before becoming the Director of Research + Development. They have also worked at California Institute of the Arts as a Visiting Artist & Guest Lecturer starting in 2020. Prior to that, they were a Designer/Developer at KarmetiK LLC starting in 2010. They also held the position of Professor of Music Technology at Austin Community College from 2010 to 2018, where they taught various courses related to interactivity, sound design, visual programming, and live electronic music performance. Additionally, they were involved in creating and curating the ACC Digital Arts and Technology Forum and was the ACC Maker Space Coordinator. Before that, they worked as a Sound Designer at Kadenze Inc. from 2013 to 2018, responsible for music composition and sound design for marketing and online courses. They also helped develop a course on "Sound Synthesis Using Reaktor". In 2009, they worked as a Technical Fabricator at Royer Labs and as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant at California Institute of the Arts. Their earliest recorded work experience was as the Lead Project Manager at Bantam Electronics from 2005 to 2008.

Meason Wiley attended the California Institute of the Arts from 2008 to 2010, where they obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Technology. They later pursued further education at the same institution from 2014 to 2016, earning a Master of Fine Arts degree in MTIID: Music Technology, Interaction, Intelligence, and Design.
