Ariel Szarfsztejn is the SVP of Mercado Envíos at Mercado Libre. Ariel has over fifteen years of experience in the financial services industry.

Ariel started their career as a human resources analyst at Citibank. Ariel then transitioned to The Boston Consulting Group, where they worked as a consultant for four years. During their time at The Boston Consulting Group, Ariel worked on strategy-related projects for major companies in Latin America.

In 2011, Ariel became a summer associate at Goldman Sachs in the Investment Management Division. Ariel was responsible for quantitative and qualitative analyses, preparing presentations for client meetings, and engaging senior members of client teams in strategy-related projects.

After their time at Goldman Sachs, Ariel became the VP of Hotels at Despegar. In this role, they were responsible for managing the Hotels Business Unit and ensuring the alignment of the company to the unit strategy. Ariel made decisions regarding commercial, sourcing, operational, financial, and IT aspects of the business, with full PL responsibility.

Ariel is currently the SVP of Mercado Envíos at Mercado Libre. In this role, they are responsible for the overall strategy and operations of Mercado Libre's shipping business.

Ariel Szarfsztejn has an MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business and an Economics degree from University of Buenos Aires, where they graduated cum-laude. Ariel also attended ORT.

Their manager is Marcos Galperin, CEO & Founder. They are on a team with Daniel Rabinovich - COO, Ramiro Cormenzana - VP, IT Product Development, and Osvaldo Gimenez - President, Fintech.
