Yarot T. Lafontaine

Yarot T. Lafontaine has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. In 2008, they began their career as a Summer Analyst at Lehman Brothers, where they focused on reconciling cash movements and mitigating risks. Lafontaine then joined Operating Partners Co. in 2008 as a Financial Analyst, working directly with senior management on financial and business operations analysis. During this time, they also partnered with the COO to develop the firm's first disaster recovery and business continuity plan.

In 2011, Lafontaine joined Ferraiuoli LLC as a Law Clerk, responsible for complex research and analysis on corporate governance, securities, and contractual matters. Yarot T. also participated in M&A transactions and was subsequently offered a position as an Associate in the Corporate Department. In 2012, they became a Senior Associate at Ferraiuoli LLC, specializing in Private Investment Funds, Investment Adviser Regulation, M&A, Corporate Governance, and Capital Markets.

Lafontaine expanded their experience to Noble Bank International in 2018, where they served as an Associate General Counsel, handling legal matters for the bank. Yarot T. then moved to Mercantile Bank International in 2019, assuming the role of General Counsel & Co-Chief Compliance Officer.

Currently, Lafontaine holds the position of General Counsel at Mercantile Global Holdings since early 2020. Notably, their work at both Mercantile Bank International and Mercantile Global Holdings has involved providing legal counsel and overseeing compliance matters.

Throughout their career, Lafontaine has demonstrated a strong understanding of corporate law, M&A, governance, and regulatory issues. Yarot T. has consistently contributed to the success of various organizations, including their expertise in investment funds and financial analysis.

Yarot T. Lafontaine has a diverse education history. From 2005 to 2008, Lafontaine attended Universidad de Puerto Rico, where they pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree with a specialization in Finance. In 2007, Lafontaine briefly studied Audio Recording Studies at the Aspen Music Festival & School, specifically focusing on the Edgar Stanton Audio Recording Institute. Finally, from 2009 to 2012, Lafontaine attended the University of Puerto Rico School of Law, where they completed their Juris Doctor degree.
