James Williams

James Williams is an experienced engineering professional specializing in powertrain integration and transmission design. Currently, James holds the position of Head of Powertrain Integration and Transmission Design at Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team, a role undertaken since March 2006, following various leadership and engineering positions within the organization. Prior to this, James contributed as a Senior Design Engineer at Xtrac Ltd from August 2000 to February 2006, and earlier, completed a brief tenure as a student at GKN Driveline in 1993-1994. James earned a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Gears, Bearings, and Tribology from Cardiff University, having completed undergraduate education at St Edmunds.
