David Hewett

David Hewett has extensive experience in the surety industry, holding various leadership roles throughout their career. David is currently the Chief Underwriting Officer at the Merchants Bonding Company. Prior to this, they served as the Managing Director and US Surety Leader at Marsh, where they were responsible for leading the contract surety team and fostering a client-centric culture. Before joining Marsh, they worked at XL Catlin as the President of Surety, where they played a key role in building a global surety operation. David also served as the Executive Vice President and Head of North American Surety at Zurich Financial Services, overseeing a $400 million plus surety operation. Earlier in their career, David held the position of Vice President at USI Holdings, Inc, where they managed the surety departments and achieved significant growth. David began their career as an Underwriter at USF&G.

David Hewett attended Indiana University - Kelley School of Business from 1988 to 1992, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Economics and Public Policy. David then pursued further education at The Johns Hopkins University - Carey Business School from 1993 to 1996, earning a Master of Science degree in Business Finance.
