Thomas Dabovich

Thomas Dabovich has extensive work experience in the insurance industry. Thomas currently holds the position of Vice President of Underwriting Operations at Merchants Bonding Company, starting in May 2023.

Prior to this, Thomas worked at Zurich North America for over two decades. Thomas held various roles, including Senior Vice President of Underwriting and Credit Management from November 2019 to May 2023. In this position, they led a team of technology professionals to implement new systems for underwriting, processing, workflow, and transaction automation. Thomas also developed bond-specific underwriting capabilities, automated processes, and introduced a workflow platform for efficient bond administration.

Before their role as Senior Vice President, Thomas served as the Senior Regional Vice President for Middle Market Contract Surety from July 2016 to November 2019, and as the Senior Regional Vice President for Commercial Surety from July 2011 to July 2016. Thomas initially joined Zurich North America as an Account Executive for Commercial Surety in August 2005.

Prior to their career at Zurich North America, Thomas worked as an Associate and Finance Intern for other companies in the industry.

Thomas Dabovich holds an education history starting from the year 2000 to 2004, during which they attended Marquette University. Thomas obtained a Bachelor of Science degree with a focus on Finance and Marketing. Continuing their education, they pursued an MBA from DePaul Driehaus College of Business, attending from 2007 to 2009, with a specialization in Managerial Finance. Additionally, in January 2008, Thomas obtained the Associate in Fidelity & Surety Bonds (AFSB) certification.
