Parul Sikand Pall

Parul Sikand Pall is a Principal Scientist at Merck since August 2015, previously serving as an Associate Principal Scientist. Prior experience includes a role as a Research Scientist at the University of Pennsylvania, where Parul Sikand Pall identified hyperexcitability in brain neurons linked to chronic pain behaviors in injured rats. At Yale University School of Medicine, significant discoveries included novel anti-pruritic neural pathways and the predominant role of capsaicin in inducing itch. Earlier experience at SIU School of Medicine involved demonstrating the role of TRPV1 in chronic pain mechanisms. Academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from the University of Delhi.
