Ranjit Nambiar has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Ranjit is currently serving as the Head LPG & LNG Freight Trading at Mercuria Energy Trading S.A. since May 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Shell for nearly 17 years, starting in 2005. During their time at Shell, they held various roles, including Sr Trader - LNG Freight, Trader LNG Freight, BG - Shell merger coordinator - Freight, Charterer - CPP & Chemicals, Shipping Economics Advisor, Ship Shore Interface Advisor, Ports & Terminal Quality Assurance, and Navigating Officer (Oil Tanker Fleet). Before joining Shell, Ranjit worked as a Navigation Officer at Anglo Eastern Ship Management from February 2003 to November 2005.
Ranjit Nambiar earned an MBA degree in Shipping & Logistics from Middlesex University from 2009 to 2012. Prior to that, they obtained a Membership by examination (MICS) in Shipping Business, Tanker Chartering from the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers between 2007 and 2008. Additionally, Ranjit attended the National Institute of Port Management where they completed the Chief Officer - Certificate of Competency program, focusing on Maritime Law, Advanced Cargo care, Advanced Navigation, and Ship handling. Ranjit also obtained an Officer of the Watch (Certificate of Competency) from the same institute, specializing in Navigation, Cargo Care, Radio Communication, and Care of Personnel. Earlier in their education, Ranjit attained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from the University of Madras. Ranjit completed their High School and A levels education at Bishop Cotton Boys School, where they studied Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Electronics, and English.
