Noah Payton

Noah Payton is the current Compliance Director at Mercury. Prior to this, they served as Head of Operations at Aspiration from January 2018 to August 2020. In this role, they led all banking operations in support of a broker dealer cash management banking services product. Their responsibilities included delivery management of all banking services, fraud mitigation and operational risk management, consumer compliance, BSA/AML/OFAC, capital compliance, customer support, broker dealer treasury reconciliation, regulatory remediations, workforce management, program and project management. Some of their major projects include the delivery management of the launch of a de-novo fintech broker dealer and the design and implementation of a best-in-class Sweep Program for sustainably meeting FDIC pass-through insurance requirements at scale.

From March 2014 to September 2017, Payton served as Sr. Director of Risk & Compliance at Simple Finance. Noah then took on the role of Advisor at a confidential company from September 2017 to September 2018. Noah later served as VP Operations at Chartwell Compliance from January 2013 to March 2014. Prior to that, they were the Risk/AML Program Manager & AML Compliance Officer at PreCash from September 2011 to January 2013.

Noah Payton attended American InterContinental University, where they earned their Master's in Business Administration. Noah also holds a Bachelor's in Psychology from the University of Oregon. In addition, they are certified by the American Bankers Association as a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) and by ACAMS as a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS).

They work with Caryn Langolf - Investigations Manager, Dana Messmer - Sr Compliance Ops Manager, and Jason Kim - Sr Onboarding Ops Manager. Taylor McCoy - Compliance Specialist, Branden Wagner - Information Security Manager, and Courtney Hurney - Compliance Management Systems Manager report to Noah Payton. Noah Payton reports to Brian Maher, VP, Compliance & Risk.
