Ikiah McGowan has a diverse work history, with experience in various roles and organizations. Starting in 2008, they worked as a Field Organizer for the Barack Obama Presidential Campaign. They later moved on to become a Global Accounts Coordinator and Event Coordinator at Universal McCann from 2009 to 2010. Following this, they worked as an Account Executive at Saatchi & Saatchi from 2010 to 2012. In 2013, they established their own consultancy, Ikiah McGowan, where they served as a Social Impact Consultant, specializing in corporate social responsibility strategies and initiatives. They also worked as a Corporate and Community Partnerships Graduate Intern at the Downtown Women's Center during the same time. From 2014 to 2014, they worked as a Corporate Responsibility Contractor at Warner Bros. Entertainment Group of Companies. From 2015 to 2017, they worked as the Director of Corporate & Community Outreach at the Assistance League of Los Angeles. In 2018, they became a Community Fundraising Manager at Smile Train, where they empowered individuals to raise funds and create awareness for cleft treatment. In 2019, they joined The Globe as a World Citizen. Currently, since 2021, they hold the position of Deputy Director, Corporate Partnerships & Engagements at Mercy Corps, where they align program needs with corporate partners' social responsibility goals.
Ikiah McGowan earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree in Marketing from Howard University in 2007. Ikiah furthered their education at the University of Southern California, where they completed a Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) degree with a focus on Social Work and Business in a Global Society from 2012 to 2014.
