Sara Nitz Nolan currently serves as the Director of Policy & Advocacy at Mercy Corps since March 2024. Prior to this role, Sara held various positions at InterAction, including Interim Director for Public Policy & Government Relations and Senior Manager for Policy and Advocacy. Sara has also contributed to Save the Children in Bangladesh as a Research and Evaluation Consultant and served as a Gender Advisor Intern at USAID. Extensive experience in legislative roles includes serving as Senior Legislative Assistant, Legislative Assistant, and Legislative Correspondent & Staff Assistant in the U.S. House of Representatives for Congressmember Karen Bass. Educational qualifications include a degree in International Development Studies from the Elliott School of International Affairs and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and History from Colgate University.
