Kat Heijstraten

Kat Heijstraten has a diverse work experience in the finance and accounting field. Kat is currently working at MercyCare as a Lead Business Analyst and previously held the role of Management Accountant. Before joining MercyCare, Kat worked at Brightwater Care Group Ltd., where they served as the Acting Lead Management Accountant and Management Accountant, responsible for management reporting and business partnering in the Disability and Residential Aged Care segments. Kat has also worked as a Management Accountant at the Children's Hospital Child Care Centre, focusing on education, guidance, and compliance. Prior to that, Kat was the Financial Controller at Osborne Fleet Services, where they had full control of the accounting function and contributed to business improvement and change management. Kat also worked as a Sole Practitioner at KHB Accountants and gained diverse experience as an Accountant and Reception/Administration staff at Thorntons Business Advisors, where they provided business services, supervised junior accountants, and handled office administration tasks. Kat has a strong background in management reporting, budgeting, compliance, and business improvement.

Kat Heijstraten obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree in Accounting from Curtin University, where they studied from 2008 to 2011. Following this, in 2012, they completed an Advanced Taxation course, CTA2, at the Tax Institute Australia. Similarly, in 2012, Kat pursued a Graduate Diploma of Chartered Accounting at Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, which they completed in 2013.
