Matthijs Vertooren

Matthijs Vertooren is an experienced mechanical engineer and project manager with a strong background in innovation and energy efficiency. Currently serving as an Innovation Technologist at Donktech since October 2016, Matthijs is involved in developing an energy-efficient commercial building in Gorinchem, incorporating solar arrays and energy storage. As the co-owner and founder of Fashion Tech Farm, Matthijs fosters creativity in the fashion technology sector. Additionally, Matthijs holds leadership roles at Merto Holding B.V. as Chairman of the Shareholder Committee and as a shareholder at Merford, where responsibilities include overseeing projects focused on noise reduction in industrial settings. With expertise in areas such as 3D printing, fast prototyping, and new manufacturing technologies, Matthijs has previously worked for a variety of companies, including tenure as a Consultant at IJssel Technologie and as an R&D Project Manager at Merford. Academic credentials include a Master of Science in Innovation Sciences from Utrecht University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht.
