Jacob Brackett

Head of Security Engineering at Merge

Jacob Brackett is currently the Head of Security Engineering at Merge. Jacob has previous experience working as a Security Engineer at Nissan Motor Corporation from June 2017 to July 2018 and as a Corporate Security Intern at SPS Commerce from June 2016 to August 2016. In this role, they conducted computer forensic analysis on both Windows and Mac computers, built and integrated a computer forensic procedure to help maintain chain of custody into the incident response procedure, wrote a python tool to enumerate for and help remove plaintext passwords from internal online materials, worked with teams across the organization to discuss and learn about identity and access management procedures in place for various systems, and learned about industry best practices for building a security program in a cloud-based technology company. Jacob also has experience as a Network Engineering Intern at Cisco from July 2014 to September 2014.

After completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems from Santa Clara University, Jacob Brackett obtained a certification from Offensive Security as an Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP).

Jacob Brackett reports to Henry Baer, Founding Engineer. They are on a team with Mark Hinkle - DevOps Engineer, Jack Cavalier - Solutions Engineer, and Conor Bergman - Backend Software Engineer.
